Dear My Future Host Family,

I am happy to know you taken a moment and read my profile.

My name is Amalia, a 24 year old Indonesian who’s looking for a host family who trust me to be a warm big sister for their children. I am graduated from university in Library Science bachelor’s degree. My skills in language, such as Indonesian as mother language, English (Intermediate), and Germany (A1).

My friends know me as a friendly, humble, patient, and creative person. On the other side, myself in my view is eager to learn, respectful, and responsible person. I am growing up in a multigenerational family that makes me used to interacting with various people of different ages, including my cousins. They are 4 and 8 years old and they are part of my experience interacting with kids (since they are babies until now).

Living and growing up with them make me used to doing:
- Do quality time together by playing traditional and board games;
- Dropping the child off at school and Picking them up;
- Accompanying them to buy snacks;
- Made Indonesia Independence Day competition for children;
- Teach and help with finishing homeworks.
I also have experience tutoring junior high school students for mathematics. Being around them has made me want to know more or be curious to learn about parenting styles in different parts of the world.

In the daily life, I am doing an internship in a company. However, I always to make time for doing house works, including:
- Cleaning the rooms
- Doing the laundry
- Washing the dishes
- Watering the plants
- Helping Mom for cooking Indonesia fries snacks for her breakfast business
- Feeding cats
With that house work, I am willing to help my host family with them, as long as they are within the usual responsibilities of an Aupair.

In the free time, I do my hobbies, such as:
- Reading books
- Trekking (outdoor activity)
- Photography and photo editing
- Making snacks
Lately, I am interested with gardening and have been starting to plant corn.

I am so excited to follow the Aupair program because I want to know new culture directly from the host family, the vibes of the country, and develop my skills in languages, like German and English. Furthermore, I am motivated to help host families for accompanying children in daily life. Frequent interaction with my cousins have made me realize that I am patient and enjoy guiding children as they learn about new things. I also want to share Indonesian culture knowledge about traditional games or snacks that I make on my own. My hope is I can build positive interaction and strengthen my bond with my future host family and their kids through our daily life together, like sharing meals, doing house chores, and having casual conversation, gardening, or engaging in outdoor activities.
