I hope this letter finds you well!

If there is one thing I would love you to know about me, it is that I genuinely enjoy being around children and watching them discover the world in their own little ways. I believe childhood is such a special time, full of curiosity, imagination, and countless opportunities to learn, and I would love to be someone who makes those everyday moments a little more meaningful.

My name is Zalfa, and I am from Indonesia. I would describe myself as a warm, friendly, patient, and curious person who enjoys learning new things and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I love meaningful conversations, exploring new places, trying different foods, watching movies, and spending time doing things that allow me to grow as a person.

One of the most meaningful parts of my experience is my work as an English tutor. I teach approximately 20 students, and most of them are children between the ages of 7 and 12, although I also enjoy teaching older students. Through this experience, I have learned that every child has a different personality, learning style, and way of expressing themselves. Some are naturally talkative and full of questions, while others need a little more encouragement to feel comfortable. I have learned to be patient, creative, and flexible, and to make learning enjoyable rather than simply something children have to do.

I especially enjoy creating fun learning activities, playing educational games, telling stories, and encouraging children to express their thoughts with confidence. For me, teaching is not only about sharing knowledge; it is also about building trust, understanding individual personalities, and making children feel supported and appreciated.

I see the au pair experience as something much more meaningful than simply helping with childcare. To me, it is an opportunity to become part of a family’s everyday life, share experiences, exchange cultures, and learn from one another. I would love to introduce my Indonesian background, traditions, language, and perhaps even some of my favourite Indonesian dishes, while also discovering your family’s culture, lifestyle, and traditions.

I would be happy to participate in everyday family activities, help children with their homework, read stories together, play games, explore their interests, and support their daily routines. I also understand that being an au pair requires responsibility, communication, adaptability, and respect for the family’s routines and boundaries. I am willing to learn, listen, and grow into the role with an open mind.

I also believe that a good relationship between an au pair and a host family should feel comfortable and respectful for everyone. I hope to find a family where we can communicate openly, share little everyday moments, laugh together, and create lovely memories. I would love to be someone your children feel comfortable approaching, someone they can learn with, play with, and trust.

Of course, I am also excited about the personal growth that comes with living abroad. Moving to another country, experiencing a different culture, learning a new language, and becoming more independent are all things I look forward to. I know there will be new challenges along the way, but I believe that being open-minded, patient, and willing to learn makes every new experience worthwhile.

Most importantly, I hope this experience will be a beautiful exchange for both sides. I do not expect everything to be perfect, but I do hope we can build a relationship based on kindness, understanding, trust, and mutual respect.
