My name is Ann, I’m from Kenya, and I’m a warm, easygoing and responsible person who enjoys being around people and learning about different cultures.
I have experience living and working with a family in Oman, where I helped with the household and spent a lot of time around children. I helped the children with their homework, kept them company, and enjoyed doing simple activities with them, including watching documentaries and spending time together. I also helped care for an elderly family member, which taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, understanding and kindness.
Family is very important to me. I’m an aunt to 12 nieces and nephews, so I’m very used to being around children of different ages and personalities. Being an aunt has taught me that children need patience, attention, encouragement and also someone who can have fun with them. I genuinely enjoy seeing children learn, become confident and express themselves.
Istudied Science Laboratory Technology and have a background in science and laboratory work. I’m naturally curious and enjoy learning new things. I’m also interested in travelling, discovering new places, learning about different cultures, reading about life and personal growth, and simply having good conversations.
I would describe myself as kind, patient, hardworking, respectful and a little shy at first. Once I become comfortable, I’m playful and enjoy laughing and having fun. I’m also quite adaptable because living and working abroad taught me how to adjust to a different culture, household and way of life.
I’m interested in becoming an au pair because I would love to experience another culture while becoming part of a family, sharing my own Kenyan culture with them, and creating a genuine connection with the children. I’m not looking at this only as a job; I would love it to be a meaningful cultural and personal experience for both me and the host family.
I’m excited to meet a family where there is mutual respect, good communication and trust, and where I can become someone the children feel comfortable with and enjoy having around.
