Dear Host Family,

My name is Naomi Wanjiku, and I am 24 years old from Juja, Kenya. I would love the opportunity to become part of your family as an au pair. I am a naturally caring, patient and responsible person, and I enjoy being around children, getting to know their personalities and being part of their everyday growth. I believe children need someone who makes them feel safe, loved and comfortable while also encouraging them to learn, explore and have fun.

I have three years of experience working as a full-time babysitter and daycare attendant in Nairobi. During this time, I cared for children of different ages and became involved in their daily routines. My responsibilities included bathing and dressing them, preparing meals, helping with homework, potty training, reading stories and organizing activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor walks and playtime. I also helped with bedtime routines and made sure the children were always comfortable and well cared for. These experiences taught me patience, flexibility and how important it is to understand that every child is different.

My love for caring for others also encouraged me to pursue nursing. I graduated from the Kenya Medical Training College with a Diploma in Enrolled Community Health Nursing and am now a licensed nurse in Kenya. I have also gained experience as a home care aide. My nursing background has helped me become more attentive, responsible and confident when it comes to people's wellbeing.

I see becoming an au pair as an opportunity to share my culture, learn about yours and build a genuine connection with your family. I would be happy to support your children's daily routines, spend quality time with them and become someone they can feel comfortable around.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cycling, swimming, cooking, arts and design, and discovering new places. I am also learning German and enjoy practising new languages. I am an open-minded person who loves learning about different cultures and trying new things.
